The Warrensburg Fire Department has adopted the 2012 International Fire Code, with some local amendments. If you have questions on the Fire Code or would like clarification on an item, please call the Fire and Emergency Prevention Office at 660-262-4654, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
There are some allowances of open burning in the City of Warrensburg. A permit is required from the Warrensburg Fire Department to burn leaves, limbs, grass and other natural vegetation. In some cases, a permit is also required from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. No trash or construction materials are allowed to be burned in the City of Warrensburg. Burning is only allowed during daylight hours and other restrictions apply. A permit can be requested by calling the on duty fire crew at 660-747-9136, ext 0. The permit may be denied due to weather conditions, proximity to combustibles, or other restrictions. There is no fee at this time for a burn permit. If you have questions regarding open burning, please call the Fire and Emergency Prevention Office at 660-262-4654.

The Fire Department provides many fire and emergency prevention programs to schools, churches, Boy and Girl Scout, and other community groups throughout the year. Please schedule a program or visit at least one week in advance.
You want to look over the apartment closely and make a note of anything that is not working properly or is broken. Areas to pay attention to include the following:
Smoke and CO2 detectors are working
Check around showers, tubs, sink, toilets, and in the basement for mold or signs of water leaking in from the foundation
Check walls and ceilings for holes or signs of water damage/stains
Check for broken windows, windows that won't open, and that the window frames are free of cracks and sealed properly
Check every light switch and outlet to make sure they work
Check toilets, faucets, tubs and showers to make sure the hot and cold water work and they they drain properly
Check that all appliances turn on and operate properly
Check to make sure the hot water heater, furnace and air conditioner turn on and operate
Look for signs of pests or mice
Look for holes in the exterior siding and the roof
Make sure all the door close and lock properly
Check that steps and handrails on stairs and decks are secure and in good working condition
Note any stains, holes, or damage in carpet and other types of flooring.
You might want ask about the following items.
What is the parking spaces? How many spaces are assigned to my unit? Are there any visitor parking spaces? Is the parking on a driveway or the street.
Are pets allowed? How many? What kind of pets are allowed?
Which utilities is the tenant responsible for setting up and paying?
Who is responsible for mowing the lawn and removing snow?
Is there a 24 hour emergency maintenance number?
When did the landlord last replace the smoke detectors or C02 detectors?
Is there a regular pest control/bed bug maintenance program?
Once a decision is made to cancel an activity or program, front desk staff will update the cancellation line (660-747-5100) shortly after. With sporting activities, the line will be updated at 4:00 pm the day of the activity. With all other activities, staff will use their best judgement if the activity will be postponed, moved to a different location, or cancelled. Yes, we do offer some senior discounts for the Warrensburg Community Center’s Indoor Pool and group exercise classes! We also accept those with Healthways SilverSneakers Fitness. If you have received your SilverSneakers code from your health insurance provider, admission to the Warrensburg Community Center’s Fitness Center and SilverSneakers group exercise classes are FREE! You may also want to check out the Senior Center in the Community Center’s West Wing from Monday through Friday at 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Each new set of activities are open for enrollment once a season changes. Warrensburg Parks and Rec has a set of 3 seasons (Fall/Winter, Winter/Spring, and Summer.) Registration dates vary depending on the release of each season’s Activity Guide. However, online registration opens approximately a week prior to in-person registration! Please subscribe to our email list so that you don’t miss out!
Yes, we do offer gift cards and certificates that can be used for any activity! We also off a Concession Stand Card that youth may use to purchase items from Nassif Concessions. If you are interested, please speak with our front desk staff!

Hours are subject to change. On major holidays, the building will be closed. The building will also close earlier on the day prior to a major holiday.
Both the Basketball Courts and Fitness Center closes 15 minutes prior to the Community Center’s closing time. However, the Basketball Courts may be closed to the public due to programs or renters. The Basketball Courts are available for rent! Half the Gymnasium is $26.00 per hour and the whole Gymnasium is $45.00 per hour. If you are interested if the Basketball Courts are open, please call front desk staff at 660-747-7178.

We ask that you please make your reservation 2 weeks in advance, so that staff may have everything prepared for your event.
We ask you please make your reservations no more than 3 months in advance to prevent conflicting schedules with all the programs Warrensburg Parks and Recreation offers.
Yes, it is our policy to collect the entire payment up front when making your reservation. However, the safety deposit check for the ABC Building is not required until the time you pick up your keys for your rental.
You may check out your keys for the ABC Building the day prior to your rental at the front desk. We do ask you please respect any rentals made around your own and to only use the building for the time you have booked. Also, please keep our building hours in mind when coming to pick up the keys.
You may drop the keys off at the front desk at the Community Center. If we are closed, there is also a drop box located in the back employee entrance where you may drop your keys in.

Changes to your account, including name changes, bill to: address changes, canceling service or disputes on usage readings are handled directly by the Missouri American Water website or customer service 866-430-0820. If Public Water District is your provider they will be the contact.
You can pay your sewer bill in person at City Hall, by mail, over the phone, setup automatic bank draft payments through the city or credit card payments on-line, (online $1.25 transaction fee), and a drop box. For more details view our Payment Options Page.
Online payments are charged a $1.25 transaction fee to include auto pay directly to the customer card account. No additional fees are charged for walk in, phone or city bank draft auto-pay transactions.
Customers will be charged a $25 service fee for checks and monthly Automatic Pay payments returned to the City for stop pays, closed accounts or any other reason. Customers will be charged a $25 service fee for credit/debit card charge backs. The fee will be added to the current bill and accrue late fees. Customers with three or more returned check payments will be required to pay their utility bills with cash or credit/debit card. Visa, MasterCard and Discover. We do not accept e-checks for walk in, phone or online payments. (Customers are responsible for updating any auto-pay information including banking account changes)
Online Bill Payment is controlled by the customer and Automatic Bill Payment by bank draft is initiated every month by City of Warrensburg on the due date.
Customers must fill out a Automatic Bill Pay Form and provide banking information for drafting from checking.
Your checking account will be charged on the payment due date. If your due date falls on a weekend or holiday it will then be charged the following business day.
Commercial accounts are based on actual water usage plus base rate determined by water meter size. New Residential accounts based on actual water usage $2.72 first 2 per CCF (CCF is defined as 100 cubic fee of water) and $6.03 for each CCF over 2 per CCF capped at 8 per CCF plus base rate of $13 (max $54.62). Established Residential accounts based on winter average water usage from readings to include January, February, and March plus base rate of $13 (starting with April billing cycle/no usage cap for winter average).

Sec. 20-2. - Snow and ice on sidewalks. It shall be unlawful for the owner or occupant of any property or the agent of any non-resident property owner within the city limits to permit any snow, ice or other obstruction to remain upon any sidewalk in front of or along such property so as to interfere with the free, easy or safe passage of people along and over such sidewalk.
One inch (1”) or more of snow and any ice accumulation is required to be removed from public sidewalks.
24 hours is given after a snow and ice event ends to clear the sidewalk.
The door hanger is not a ticket, it is a one-time warning that a ticket will be issued after the next snow and ice event if the sidewalk is not cleared within 24 hours after the event ends.
A blue door hanger will be used to Thank You for clearing your sidewalk and will be given in place of the pink door hanger warning.
$25.00 per ticket plus $29.00 for court costs for a total of $54 for each offense after the warning.
Yes, a ticket can be issued for each snow and ice event if the property is in violation.
City code allows either the tenant or the owner to be ticketed. In most cases, the City will hold the owner responsible and the owner will be ticketed.
City ordinance, Sections 20-155 through 20-166 require that property owners keep the sidewalks adjoining their property clear and in repair, and can impose the costs of reconstruction upon the property. Chapter 20 of the City Code requires all adjoining property owners to keep sidewalks free of trash and debris, as well as snow and ice.
